Cultivating GRIT for a life of success
On Saturday 29 April 2023, the LLL Program hosted a workshop for its students at the Russel Bothman Hall. The workshop focussed on "building GRIT for success" and provided an opportunity for about 40 LLLers to gain insights about grit from the two invited speakers.

‘The future is within your grasp’. This was the crosscutting theme at the LLL Opening event. The LLL Opening event this previous weekend (18 February 2023) marked the official start of the Listen, Live, and Learn Program for the 2023 year.

SLAM die taal lwakho
Do you have a story to tell? Something funny? Inspirational? Or maybe slice-of-life? “Slam die taal lwakho” is a multilingualism video competition that offers you the chance to tell your story using any combination of Stellenbosch University’s three official languages: English, Afrikaans and isiXhosa (you have to use at least two). Your story can be about a real-life experience, serious to silly, humour, life-changing moments, or your dreams and aspirations, as long as it captures the University’s multilingual principle.

When Talent, Opportunity, and Platform conspire to create TOP-notch impact
Sitting at the Stellenbosch’s world-famed Lanzarec, tucked between a fireplace and oak-wooden smooth table while relishing over a mouthful of their popular braised lamb shank, the LLL coordinator Enos Lekala spoke to Lunga Hamilton Momoza who is a trail-blazing LLL participant taking the agritech world by storm with his awards winning Basket E-Commerce. He now partnered with another former LLLer, Esihle Vellem and a friend to bring in a lot of technical expertise to the company while he leads the business development and sales front.

Son of the Soil Learner's Visit to Stellenbosch University
On the 26th March 2022, LLL hosted a campus to the Son of the Soil learners. The day started off with a brief welcoming at Huis Russel Botman, followed by motivation talk from one of the Son of the Soil alumni who reminded the learners that everything is within their reach. “Hard work and focus are the key to unlocking that full potential”, he said. With a film crew that was filming for the soon to be released documentary on Son of the Soil occasionally filming and conducting interviews, the day was surely busy for everyone involved.
